Registrations

I registered my trip with the department of state a few days ago.  I need to remember to update that information with an address as soon as I know what it is, and a current phone number.  I also need to tell my bank that I will be out of the country so they don't freeze my account.

Entrance Letter

I recieved my entrance letter today.  It mostly just says that I am a student and not working in the UK so I shouldn't need a visa.  Only 32 days left!

Housing Info

I just found out that I should know my housing assignment on the 12th of August.  I also found out that we can't move in until 9 am on the morning of the 31st, so I hope I have something to do before then since I should get there at about 6 am.  Maybe it will take that long for me to get out of the airport, who knows.

More Info

Ok, so while I am gone I will not be able to use my current phone, so I think I will buy a prepaid phone to use.  Please note that I will have no service in London, so I will not get any texts, or calls.  If anyone wants to chat, I have Skype, and my account name is lnj909.  I will still use facebook too.  Anyhow, I got my Oyster Card yesterday and now I am getting really excited.

Update

Yesterday my program director called to confirm my mailing address to make sure that I will get my letter allowing me to stay in the UK for 4 months as a student.  He said that those letters and housing assignments should be mailed in a couple of weeks.  He then said something about ordering books, but I don't think I will worry about that until I get there.  I also got my a letter from my doctor about taking my prescriptions with me on the plain.  I'm glad I got that part done.  I have also bought a guidebook called London 2011, by Rick Steves', and I have pretty much read the whole book and listened to or watched the podcasts that he has done about London and some other countries.  I was thinking about ordering a general Europe guide book to read before I go but I don't know if it would be all that useful.  Anyways, I leave in a like 40ish days I think. Before I go I have to get all of my paperwork together and make mass amounts of copies.  Oh, and I ordered an Oyster Card to use the tube but I haven't got it yet.  I guess that's all for now that is.  Oh, wait I almost forgot, but I need to decide if I should get some money converted here or wait until I arrive in Heathrow.
